Dr. Jessica Briggs Biography

Dr. Jessica Briggs is a piano teacher in Bowling Green, Ohio with over 22 years of teaching experience. She has taught a wide range of students from beginners to those seeking rigorous study in preparation for entrance to a university. Students will feel challenged in an encouraging, nurturing environment.

At an early age, Briggs was fortunate to be on the receiving end of truly life-changing teaching. Her studies with reknowned pedagogue and pianist Marvin Blickenstaff played a significant role in her decision to become a piano teacher. Further studies including a Master of Music in Piano Performance and Pedagogy at the University of Oklahoma and a Doctor of Arts Degree in Piano Performance from Ball State University, helped to instill not only the love of learning, but the never-ending pursuit of teaching effectiveness and excellence.

A passion for teaching students of all ages and abilities has led Briggs to understand two vital components to successful piano study: all students want to have fun by enjoying that "feel good" experience that making music has to offer, and all students need to feel successful. It is Briggs' goal to make sure that all students have these needs met.

Currently, Briggs is an adjunct piano instructor at the University of Findlay, while also maintaining a piano studio at home in Bowling Green, Ohio.
